You voted to advance the One Big Beautiful Bill — a 940-page wrecking ball aimed straight at the people who rely on Medicaid, SNAP, and basic rural health funding. You moved it forward. And now, Donald Trump is using your vote to claim momentum.
You have one last chance to show us that your independence isn’t just branding.
Alaskans don’t need gestures. They need protection — from a bill that guts health coverage, torches food assistance, and insults every remote community you’ve ever stood in front of and promised to fight for.
You know this bill is wrong. You’ve said as much. You negotiated carveouts because you knew how bad it was. But there’s no version of this legislation that can be fixed with footnotes.
It is a betrayal. A national embarrassment. And your vote — your final vote — will either stop it or cement it.
