As Solstice is behind us and the light begins to grow, I’ve been pondering that deep, spiritual question, “How did we get into this mess?” That is, when most people are kind, reasonably considerate of others, and capable of empathy, how is we have a gang of sociopaths running the world? Practicing permaculture has taught me to look at systems. What is it in our political and economic systems that creates a favorable habitat for narcissists? And more to the point, how do we change that? In this podcast, I suggest applying one of our permaculture principles: feed what you want to grow. What would we have to do to create conditions that would favor caring, compassionated people of integrity holding power?
Enjoy it while you wrap presents or cook dinner. Happy holidays to you all!
I have recently started to develop a set of ideas looking at various permaculture principles and how they might apply to our current political situation.
